An Old chapel once stood at Ponta da Piedade, and the highest religious authorities in Portugal had to intervene before a Lighthouse could be built here.

Built in 1913, it stands 8 metres high and 51 meters above the sea.

Its Characteristic is 1 Flash every 7 seconds. Range of 20 miles.

Automated in 1998, but it is still inhabited.
