Old Lower Light

 

 – A tall white painted brick circular tower lighthouse with an observation window light and gallery and buildings attached situated a short distance from the shore edge. 

Built in 1867 the tower is 85 feet high and the light was visible for 21 miles. 

The light was decommissioned in 1906.

Old Higher Light 

 

– A squat white painted brick circular tower lighthouse with an observation window light and gallery and buildings attached situated on high ground a short distance from the shore edge. 

Built in 1789 the tower is 50 feet high and the light was visible for 21 miles. 

The light was decommissioned in 1906.

 

       

 

 

This Lighthouse is now used as a Holiday Rental.

Complete with outside swimming pool.

Portland Bill 


 

 A red and white painted brick circular tower lighthouse with a traditional light and buildings attached currently operated by Trinity House situated on the shore edge. 

Built in 1906 the tower is 136 feet high and the light is visible for 25 miles.

My Car with 1/4 wave vertical Aerial attached to a 6mtr Fiberglass Fishing pole, worked a treat on 14 MHz.

The light above is of Portland Bill... 

WHAT an Impressive site in the Dark !!!!!!
