A
tall white painted brick circular tower
lighthouse with a traditional light with
buildings attached situated on St. Mary’s
Island, Whitley Bay and connected to the
mainland by a causeway.

Built
in 1888 the tower is 150 feet high and the
light was visible for 22 miles. The light
was made redundant in 1984.
This
lens is not the original optics. There is
NO Lamp assembly either.
This
is from Withernsea Lighthouse while the
original is safely kept at the National
Lighthouse Museum in Penzance.
